What Are Hand Wraps For?

During your kickboxing workout, you’ll be punching heavy bags. Hand wraps are used to provide wrist support and knuckle padding inside the boxing glove so that you can hit to your heart’s desire without injuring your hands. They also prevent friction between your hand and the glove so you won’t get blisters. Plus, you feel pretty cool when you put them on.

What Type of Workout Will I Get?

Kickboxing is an amazing workout. You will burn between 700-900 calories per hour – that’s more than more traditional workouts, like running. So be ready to tone muscle, burn fat and sweat! Since these kickboxing workouts are considered High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), your metabolism will be boosted for hours after you walk out of the gym, helping you to continue burning fat.

Also, be ready to relieve some stress. Nothing is more satisfying after a stressful day than punching and kicking a heavy bag. Take out all your aggression on a 120lb punching bag and you’ll leave our class feeling empowered and happy.

Expect to be sore for a week after your first kickboxing workout. But it’s the good kind of sore. And don’t worry, once you get past the first week you will feel great, have more energy, and begin to see real results. Consistency is key!

Should I Eat Before Class?

It’s usually best to eat a snack about 2 hours before your kickboxing workout. This will ensure you have optimum energy for the class, without your stomach being too full. A small portion of low glycemic fruit, like berries, is best. Fibrous carbs like vegetables are also great for flowing blood & oxygen to the moving muscles.

How Can I Get The Most Out Of Classes?

As with any other exercise, if you want to improve your cardiovascular condition, increase lean muscle mass, and decrease unwanted body fat, you’ll have to practice kickboxing workouts regularly. Two to four sessions a week based on your desire and schedule is optimal. Trust us, you’ll be surprised how fast you start to notice results.

  • Boxing – Great for both those wanting to learn the art of boxing and build strength and endurance. There are no kicks in boxing – only punching – and you’ll work with both bags and a partner.
