Combat Coach
James Quigg
"Train Smarter, Fight Harder"
Bio
I first got on mats to wrestle in 1994, and I've been committed to combat sports ever since. In high school, I volunteered to coach the youth program in my area while I earned state championships and qualified for USA Nationals in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. I started in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, Muay Thai, and boxing as a cadet at West Point, gained my Army Combatives certifications, and continued my involvement in teaching and training Army combatives throughout my career as an officer in the Army. After a deployment to Afghanistan, I committed to fighting MMA and won 5 amateur fights, the 82nd Airborne Combatives Tournament, and the All Armed Forces Combatives Invitational.
After leaving active duty, I pursued a professional MMA career as a Bantam Weight and went 4-3. Throughout my amateur and professional MMA career, I also apprenticed under my MMA coach learning processes to push student's performance while minimizing the risk of injury. I bring all of the tools I've developed as an officer in the Army, a fighter, a coach of fighters, a school teacher, and personal training to help each of my students and clients be the best versions of themselves.
Fun fact: One of my other favorite hobbies is playing tabletop roleplaying games.
