I could never go back to LA fitness. I’m addicted to X3. I’ve learned how to push myself further than I ever thought possible as far as my fitness level goes. I’ve learned about lifting weights, heavy weights, how to do the “triangle” in BJJ, and how to beat the crap out of a heavy bag.
Jelani
My name is Betty Mayfield-Sly, My grandson Jelani is a member at X3 Sports and attends Mr. Breon Smiley’s boxing class, (Coach Smiley I would be remiss not to share my family and grandson’s wonderful experience since joining your facility).
Coach Smiley is a very special person and an inspiration to so many kids, but in particular, he continues to make a lasting and positive impression on my grandson Jelani. Mr. Smiley is a great role model and mentor to all of the kids he coaches. He is an amazing coach and an amazing man in that he truly cares about the children who he trains. Before Jelani joined X3 Sports, he could not jump rope or run very fast. After training with Mr. Smiley for about 9 months, Jelani not only managed to come in 2nd in the 100 and the 200 meter dash in track, he also qualified this summer (2013) for USATF Jr. Olympic in Florida.
It would be Jelani’s first time on a track field, and I contribute all of Jelani’s success to Coach Smiley, who is an outstanding coach and possesses an undeniable love for his work.
I thank you, for your leadership and your outstanding team at X3 Sports for being professionals and for all that you do. Your service is no less than an A+ rating. My family and I look forward to having a successful, exciting, and wonderful experience at X3 Sports in the years to come.*

I joined X3 in July 2013 and decided I wanted proper yoga instruction, so I started taking yoga classes there in August. I definitely have more body awareness since I started doing yoga; discovering muscles I never knew existed within my body and engaging those muscles that I wouldn’t normally engage or even notice while doing regular intensive workouts (such as kickboxing, fast track, etc). Targeting and strengthening those specific muscles have contributed greatly to my performance in the more intensive workouts. I had noodle arms… I mean they are still small but before they were useless, couldn’t hold myself up in a plank to save the lives of kittens and puppies.
After all the Chaturangas and Downward Dogs… holding my body weight is no longer a problem. In fact I am in love arm balances! Yoga has provided me with such a sense of strength (not only body but mind as well) and greatly improved my flexibility. In the not too distant future my leg will be behind my head. Yoga and X3 Sports has inspired me so much and benefited to my overall health that I am currently a certified yoga instructor at X3 Sports.*

I began training at X3 Sports in late October 2013 at 275lbs. As of February 1st 2014, I weighed in at 235lbs. Right now my main focus is losing the weight and competing in MMA when I reach my goal of 170lbs. I competed in COPA for the NO GI Jan. 18th. And will try and compete for Lutador in March. I always wanted to try Jiu Jitsu when I was living in Cali but the prices were too ridiculous. As soon as my buddy got me into X3 there was no looking back. Joining X3 Sports was the best decision I ever made. Love the great friends I’ve made through X3 and excited to see how our friendship will progress in the future.*

I started in January of 2013 with a goal of keeping my strength, increase my resistance, focus my mind and most importantly; enjoy anything I want to do.
I love the boxing classes because it’s a very dynamic and fun combination of everything including learning how to enhance my balance. The practice, the timing and sequences, improve my strength; which has helped me to improve my core. This is very important to me because these attributes have been a huge help in order to offset my weakness that is primarily based on how I am able to stay on my feet.
The classes are helping me to improve a multitude of things. I have Muscular Dystrophy condition and it causes me to experience weakness in all of my joints. It’s specifically painful in my lower extremities. This is a progressive condition and targets my capabilities to maintain and sometimes even find my balance. It is for this reason I have to find the courage and do my best to keep motivated in my workouts, in an effort to have a better life.
Everyday I work on my strength, balance and resistance capacity. I know I have found a place to help me stay healthy and I feel awesome every time I’m done with my routines. When I have my daily workouts I feel energized for the day, ready for anything and can face any challenge.
It is a wonderful opportunity to have this kind of training facility which includes a schedule of different classes. Everyone that comes to X3 to workout is doing something different and I feel that they are all working hard to achieve their goals. Every staff member is kind and shows they care, but most importantly, they are willing to get me a tremendous experience every time I am there. I must say I feel comfortable and I am going to an excellent environment to support me in reaching my daily goals. I always say that the best someone can do each day, is something good for your mental and physical health. Consistency and having excellent discipline is the key to feeling spectacular.*

Before Power Track I was doing a lot of cardio conditioning. I was on the scale every day watching the pounds melt off and day-by-day I was getting smaller but my body looked and felt like crap. Losing the pounds was cool, but I was also shedding muscle mass. My joints were killing me, in particular my knees and my back and my core were still very weak. Heck, I couldn’t even do a pull up! Now that I think back, I never could do a pull up!?
I wanted to be stronger. I wanted to look different. Losing pounds wasn’t the only reason why I joined X3; I joined X3 to change the way my body looked, felt and performed! I wanted to be fit! -not skinny fat. Rob Jacob’s Power Track delivered fit and more! Rob taught me about strength through proper form, tempo and compound lifting. I don’t come to X3 to workout. I can workout at home. I come to X3 to train, strengthen, and develop my BODY and all its components! Rob you have done more than you will ever know for me and my family. Thank you very much! My wife says I’m sexy… now.*

I came to X3 sports in February of 2013. I originally came to X3 weighing 230 lbs. I now weigh 200 lbs. My goal is to continue to put on lean muscle and then eventually take more Martial Arts and Sports Training classes. Fast Track helped has providing me a whole-body workout that helped me build my strength and endurance and keep the pounds off. I love that Fast Track offers a challenging and varied workout, and the camaraderie among everyone in the class helps keep me motivated and pushes me further.*

We’ve all been to your typical franchise gym. It’s daunting. You won’t find this at X3. Perhaps one of the best characteristics of this gym is leadership. I learned the fundamentals in about an hour. Impressive. The best part about this place is I felt no pressure to sign up.
Muay Thai Success Story: James LaPierre
I’ve been a part of the Muay Thai program for nearly a year now and it has been one of the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had. I lost 20lbs since I started training in Muay Thai. I’m a long time martial arts fan, and learning Muay Thai has given me a different, more rounded perspective on the world of martial arts. Every single class, I feel like I learn something new that makes my skills sharper than they were before. Taking Muay Thai has taught me a type of discipline that I did not have before, and it affords me a sense of confidence to be able to walk around without fear of harm. Muay Thai has helped me get into the best shape of my life and instilled in me a feeling of camaraderie with an awesome group of people. I train with an incredible instructor; Harris Norwood, at the Inman Park location.*
